It has been quite a while since we have all gotten together but it is going to happen this month on April 18, 2022 at the CHI St. Vincent McAuley Senior Center, 5010 AR-7, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909 The gathering will begin at 9 am and end at 12 pm. Check the calendar on the home page of the website for project information and a supply list. I'm looking forward to creating with my polymer clay friends and hope there will be some new interest in polymer clay. The public is welcome to attend. Feel free to contact me, Marlene Gremillion

The Guild is displaying at the Ponce de Leon Center in the reception area display cabinet at the Woodlands Auditorium for the entire month of September. This is the first display by the guild since forming the group in November of 2015. Members are very excited to share with the public the versatility of the medium they are having such a good time learning and sharing with one another. The guild meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Village U U Church. Displaying members are Helen McCumber, Marlene Gremillion, Dianne Morgan, Pati Trippel and Sheri Craig (Pictured),
not pictured Maureen Rouseaux, Bonnie Ricci and Caren Garner. Be sure to go in the Artists Workshop Gallery in Hot Springs Arkansas and take a look at some of the "Cane Mapping" done by some of the displaying members. Really neat looking. Will hang through the month of December 2018. Open Monday - Saturday 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday noon - 5 pm.
I am proud to say that the Alice Stroppel workshop has definitely made and we are getting excited about Alice coming Arkansas. This is sure to be a really great learning experience for those signed up. If you are interested there are still just a few spots left. Check it out here if you are interested Workshops I have been wanting to see the white beauty of snow but so sorry it occured today on our Polymer Clay get together day and our first swap of white....maybe that is why we got snow! Everyone who agreed to participate will just have to hold on to the pieces until the February meeting and bring them then. We will wait also to have our texture demonstration then because I feel it will be helpful to everyone.
Mean while I think the next challenge to create on your own and bring to show and tell in February can be this: "Spring is around the corner....your interpretation in clay" Happy Claying, Marlene Happy to finally get a website up and going for the Ouachita Mountain Polymer Clay Guild. We have done some exciting things and learned a lot from each other over the past two years but there is still lots to learn.
Many of us have become addicted to polymer clay and have realized it is really another true art form. This coming year I feel we will grow even more. My wish is to have a major instructor come in and teach a workshop. So be watching for the announcement in the year 2018. |
